Know About Us

SC/ST Fisherman Council registered in Delhi under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 with Registration No.: S/28173/1995. The SC/ST Fisherman Council is a socio-economic and welfare organization committed to the upliftment and empowerment of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities engaged in the traditional occupation of fishing and aquaculture. Established in 1995 and registered in Delhi, the Council operates with the primary aim of improving the living standards, rights, and representation of marginalized fishermen across India. Over the years, the Council has worked closely with local fishing communities, government agencies, and NGOs to promote equitable access to fishing resources, introduce sustainable fishing practices, and secure government entitlements for SC/ST fishermen. The Council also advocates for educational, health, and financial inclusion of fishermen and their families.
